JetBlue Flash Sale is Back – $20 One-Way Flights to Select Airports (Strict Dates)

JetBlue is back with their “flash sale”, offering one-way flights at rock-bottom pricing. What they are really doing is trying to fill empty planes, but that is okay with me.

You can see Southern California, Bay Area, and Las Vegas options for as little as $20 one-way. The date(s) are very strict, but there are still plenty of $39 one-ways floating out there on other dates.

400 Point Flights during Flash Sale

This is the fewest points required for an award flight that I can recall. JetBlue is charging just 400 points plus $5.60 for your typical security fee for these cheap one-ways. If you don’t have JetBlue points, you can transfer at 250:200 from your American Express Membership Rewards account. That means you’d need just 500 Amex Membership Rewards points plus $5.60 for a flight.

If the cash price is $20 and the award price is 400 points plus $5.60, let’s do the math:

$20.00

$5.60
———–
$14.40

$14.40 divided by 400 = .036. That means you’d be getting 3.6 cents per point, that is ungodly for JetBlue or really any domestic flight for that matter.
